If you are truly adventurous at heart, this is your chance to climb behind the wheel of your very own 4WD off road vehicle for a drive of a lifetime. Meet your guide at the cruise center for a short orientation and safety briefing, then put on your helmet and goggles, and it’s off you go, past the many salinas that were once used to obtain salt and the charming city of Cockburn Town, the capital of the Turks & Caicos Island. Make your way to North Wells, where you might catch a glimpse of the famous endangered pink flamingos, and visit the famous Grand Turk Lighthouse, constructed in 1852 and still providing mariners with a useful beacon and guiding light. Once back in your buggy, but before heading back to the cruise center journey along the east coast to the Grand Turk Indigenous Horse Shelter to get a close-up look at a few of the wild horses and donkeys which were once integral to the island’s booming salt trade.
