New Additions to Grand Turk Cruise Center coming this Winter 2012

A major new attraction is the new South Beach area.  A white sand beach area on the south side of the port that will offer an exclusive oasis for those that reserve directly from their cruise’s shore excursion desk.  This 800 sq. ft. of area will offer private, air-condition luxury super cabanas for groups of up to 15 guests, food & beverage service, water toys (non-motorized), lounge chairs and hammocks.

Passengers will also be greeted by a pair of humpback whales “breaching” through the powdery white sand. This massive 12-foot-high by 38-foot-long sculpture is a great photo opportunity for our guests. Adjacent to the sculpture is signage that offers a variety of interesting whale facts, along with photos of these majestic and mysterious creatures.

Also on the south beach will be our new Bar & Grill, open air dining in a relaxed atmosphere with views of the turquoise ocean. With the new ability to get married while here we have the perfect spot with our Wedding Gazebo, back dropped by the Ocean and Cays.

Coming soon is our newly constructed local craft market in the main plaza of the cruise center.  Dozens of local artisans will be displaying a variety of high quality hand crafted items.

This year, the Grand Turk Cruise Center expects to host some 300 cruise ship calls from 16 different cruise brands totaling nearly 640,000 passengers.
